Maysville Abbey Amateur Radio Club

      Originally formed as a social aspect of the Abbey, we quickly realized that we had the ability to do much more than just be social. We formed the MAARC group to give us the ability to provide more communications, not only in times of fun but also in times of aid. The MAARC is dedicated to provide service to the community through communications. The Majority of our members are also active with the local Skywarn and ARES groups.

      In keeping with our mission, we currently operate an APRS IGate from the Abbey, providing Message Store and Forward features as well as Severe Weather information from the NWS. We are also looking to build our own local repeater (maybe on 6 meters or 220mHz) and to build a communications trailer for disaster and emergency (and contest) response.
